Fare well, Doc!

After 3 wonderful years of very positive collaboration, Dr Khadija has now left Chaaria to go for further studies in the postgraduate specialization course of obsterics and gynecology in Eldoret.
We are very happy for her, because we know that the competition was very high, but she managed to enter the specialization at the first attempt: that means simply that Dr Khadija is absolutely smart...something we knew already, having worked with her for so long!
We are sure that the sick women and above all the mothers-to-be are a real passion for her, and we are pretty convinced that Dr Khadija will become an absolutely skillful and kind gynecologist.
On the other hand, we also miss her and we feel the pinch of her going: Dr Khadija is very hard working, and managing the hospital without her is now so heavy for me. I miss her either in outpatients or in the ward round, either in theater or in the labor room.
Above all I feel now overwhelmed by the huge number of obstetric and pelvic ultrasounds which Dr Khadiha was performing on my behalf with absolute competence.

Personally as Bro Beppe, I miss a friend and a daughter, somebody who was relying on me for help and was trusting me in many clinical judgments; at the same time I miss an intelligent, bright and skillful clinician who was able to suggest rare diagnosis and to remind me of pathological conditions I had long forgotten.
I will miss her help in preparing the CMEs for our staff on Thursday morning.
It has been so good working with Dr Khadija!
It has been wonderful to be people of God together, committed to our religious convictions in total respect and openness towards one another: I strongly believe we have been a testimony to the world that there cannot be any division based on religion, because God is one, whatever is the way you follow to go to Him and whatever name you may use to address Him. Thank you Dr Khadija also for this message of unity we have been giving to everybody with our simple way of living, working and being friends together.
May God be with you, assist you in the new chapter opening now in your life.
May you find joy, professional fulfillment, scientific knowledge...always for the good of the people we serve.
Actually it is for them that we struggle, we study, we suffer and even we accept leaving a place we like and the friends we have met there.
Serving our patients makes our medical profession a true mission and an ethical commitment: I know we both believe that! I will pray for you.
Be happy.
Study hard, and...do not forget us!

Bro Beppe
